Introduction to Healthcare Science 25.52100 Student's explore various careers in the medical field through hands on skills and activities. Some of the fields of study include medicine, nursing, physical & occupational therapy, medical laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, medical assisting, dental services, nutrition, mental health, emergency medicine, environmental health, bio-medical engineering, and hospital administration. Medical terminology will be covered. This class is a pre-requisite for all Health Science pathways.
Essentials of Healthcare 25.44000 This is the second level of healthcare science. Essentials will build upon the knowledge attained in level one. This class is very challenging due to the amount of medical terminology, and anatomy learned. Connections will be made between medical procedures, pathophysiology of disease, and disorders of the body.
Allied Health and Medicine 25.43700 This is the final class for pathway completion. It is a rigorous class that will cover items learned in levels one and two. In addition, there will be many multi-skilled healthcare opportunities.
Upon completion of the third consecutive class, students will take the National Consortium of Health Science Education Exam.
